Of course they can! Would you not listen to a Friend, you Parent, or even a Professional you hired to help you through a crisis in your life? The only damn difference is that in a book or movie, it's "publicized." In fact trivialized to a point it feels just like a "feel good" experience, not the life changing opportunity that it really may be.
I am sitting here tonight watching TV, and came across a movie that we had watched via my NetFlix subscription a number of months, if not years ago. I have quite a few books & movies that I have really enjoyed in life. Some have influenced me (not many), but there are enough I feel strongly about that I will be adding a movie section in The Forum. Added as you read...
Please do yourself and me one favor... watch, rent, buy "Pay It Forward!" The concept of Pay It Forward is REAL, read the story on how the books author developed the concept for the book through an IRL experience. In internet terms IRL means (In Real Life). Please take a look at this link for the movie, but do me yet one more favor, click on the book link first, then go to movie.
The Forum does require you to register and login if you post
a message, but I do
this so the Forum is not spammed. I recently witness a
commercial forum site get spammed... it was ugly. This helps
prevent that from happening. Your information is safe and
will not be used at all. You folks know me.
I am very much involved in Lake Washington Technical College. I think it's a strange story as how I got so entrenched with the school.
I had taken an "Enthusiast" level course at the school back in 1998. Harley-Davidson Preventative Maintenance. This course is still be offered by-the-way. Contact LWTC for more detail.
After taking the course with Bob Monroig the instructor, my passion for motorcycles in general grew rapidly. It got to the point were I wanted to change my career path from software to hardware. Hardware being motorcycles! Shortly after that class I went back to the dealership that sold me my Road King and insisted they give me an opportunity to work for them. I ended up working for the dealership for a little over five years.
From there to today... I am a Director on the Foundation Board for the college and I Chair the Workforce Committee for the Directors Board.
One of the many ways to contact me
